The University of Maine at Farmington is located in a quiet, picturesque New England community in the forested foothills of the Longfellow Mountains in western Maine. The fall colors are amazing, and the winter snows are deep. Farmington, with a population of 7500, is a 1 1/2 hour drive from the rugged Maine coastline and the same distance from the rolling countryside of southern Quebec. It is just over two hours from the spectacular Acadia National Park. A pleasant ski slope is located within the town, and three major ski resort areas are within an hour of the campus.
Established in 1864 as Maine's first public institution of higher education, UMF is a founding member of COPLAC, consisting of 25 public colleges and universities committed to providing superior liberal arts and sciences education. UMF serves a student body of 2000 full-time students. The campus is noted for its friendly and accessible faculty and small classes. The focus is on the individual at UMF.

Campus Location - Farmington is located approximately 2 hours north of Portland, Maine and 4 hours north of Boston, Massachusetts.
