ABOUT THE
PROGRAM:

The mission of the Honors College at Boise State University is to provide an academically challenging and transformative education for exceptional students. It strives for a curriculum that stimulates curiosity about the world and develops competence in balancing multiple perspectives while sharpening students’ abilities to observe carefully, to think critically, and to write and speak logically and effectively. In addition to coursework that supports its academic mission, the Honors College offers a variety of co-curricular opportunities to students. Whether it's joining with other students and professors in outdoor activities as they hike the Sawtooth Mountains, float the Payette River, or explore the Owyhee canyon lands or participating in conversations with Nobel Laureates and eminent scholars as part of the Honors College’s Distinguished Lecture Series, the Honors College provides an educational experience that you will never forget.

COURSES:

The Honors curriculum contains three types of courses designed to broaden horizons and stimulate curiosity: foundation, enrichment and capstone courses. Foundation courses are introductory offerings that provide a broad base of knowledge within a specific discipline. Enrichment courses are interdisciplinary offerings aimed at upper division students. Finally, capstone courses allow advanced students to engage in direct research or creative activities. For a list of current foundation, enrichment and capstone courses consult the Boise State University Honors College homepage.
