About This Campus

CSUB is a comprehensive regional University and is committed to excellence in its four schools - Arts and Humanities, Business and Public Administration, Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering, Social Sciences and Education. The campus is located on 375-acre site in metropolitan Bakersfield. The university is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, with six programs accredited by national accrediting organizations. More than 90% of the faculty has doctoral degrees in their fields of study. The university operates on a quarter system from September to June with two summer sessions. CSUB has majors in 31 undergraduate degree programs, seven credential programs in education, and 17 graduate degree programs. CSUB athletics has been a source of continuing pride for the university and community. CSUB's 17 sports programs have won 30 national championships. NCAA Division I University.

Location Information

California State University, Bakersfiled opened in September 1970 as the 19th member of the 23 campus California State University system. Bakersfield is located in one of the nation's fastest-growing cities.

Financial Aid

Host Payment
For Host Payment U.S. students, aid is awarded by and disbursed from your host campus. Students apply for federally funded financial aid by using the FAFSA code of their host campus. Host campuses award aid to eligible incoming Plan A students on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funds are available. Ask your home campus NSE coordinator if your campus awards aid to their own outgoing students. If so, do not apply for aid from your host campus.

Tuition, housing, and meals costs listed are per semester. Housing is not guaranteed. It is available on a first come, first served basis. Early application is strongly suggested. Students coming for the fall quarter or fall and winter quarters will be assessed an additional $400 residence hall fee since this does not constitute a full-year contract.
