CLOSED PROGRAMS:

None at this time. No specific undergraduate academic programs are closed to incoming NSE students. Enrollment is subject to course availability and applicable prerequisites.

RESTRICTED/LIMITED PROGRAMS:

Enrollment in courses that include clinical experiences, internships, practica, student teaching, or other field placements may be limited and may require verification of prerequisites, departmental approval, additional documentation, and space availability. This may apply particularly to Nursing and other Health Sciences programs, Education field experiences, and other courses with professional or clinical placements. Exchange students should consult with the NSE Coordinator prior to registering for these courses.

OTHER ACADEMIC INFORMATION:

Most courses at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, San Germán Campus are taught in Spanish. Students seeking a broad range of course options should have Spanish proficiency at approximately the B2 level (CEFR), as determined by their home campus. A limited number of courses are taught in English, primarily through the English Department and selected courses in other academic areas. English-language course availability varies by semester. Spanish as a Foreign Language courses are offered, subject to course availability. Students without sufficient Spanish proficiency may experience difficulty in courses taught in Spanish. Exchange students are encouraged to work with the NSE Coordinator to identify courses appropriate to their language proficiency and academic needs.
