About This Campus
The University of New Mexico is located in Albuquerque, NM, a city of over 500,000. It is noted for its dry high desert climate, with warm sunny days and cool crisp nights. The campus lies nearly a mile above sea level on a plateau overlooking the Rio Grande Valley to the West and the Sandia Mountains to the East. You can drive to the following locations in a day: Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, White Sands National Park, Chaco Canyon, Santa Fe (known for its art and culture), a number of Indian Pueblos, and several snow skiing areas.

Registration occurs for incoming NSE Students after existing UNM Students register. Commuting is free on the city bus system. Students must meet prerequisite requirements for courses they wish to register for.
Location Information
The UNM Campus is located centrally in Metropolitan Albuquerque and only a few miles away from the airport, and the Sandia mountain range.

We have privatized housing both on and off campus which is separate from UNM Housing. Please contact Lobo Village 505-925-5575 or Casa Del Rio 505-277-1619, should you wish to live in one of those facilities. These facilities are contract-based and are ideal for students who will stay at UNM all year. Students staying in Lobo Village or Casas Del Rio should inquire about single semester rates if they are only doing single-term exchange.
