Minnesota State University Moorhead’s campus spans 119 acres in the heart of Moorhead, MN, on the western edge of the state. Moorhead combines a strong liberal arts foundation with a spirit of innovation. Classes are taught by professors—not teaching assistants—and many faculty members are leaders in their fields of research.

Course registration is generally smooth, though some specialized classes may have limited availability. Moorhead is a safe, affordable city with convenient public transportation through MATBUS (free to students), and most essentials are within a short distance. Winters are cold and snowy, so bring warm clothing and embrace seasonal activities! Overall, Moorhead provides an inclusive environment with plenty of opportunities for involvement, cultural exchange, and academic success.
Location Information
Moorhead is the largest city in northwest Minnesota and sits adjacent to Fargo, North Dakota. Together, the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area has a population of over 267,000, offering the charm of a small town with the amenities of a larger community. Sports fans can enjoy the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, a semi-professional baseball team, and the Fargo Force, a USHL hockey team. For cultural experiences, Moorhead is home to the Hjemkomst Center, a unique attraction featuring the Hjemkomst Viking Ship and a replica of the Hopperstad Stave Church.

So, do your laundry for free on campus, just provide your own detergent.
