Exchange students are eligible to take courses from across Faculties and Schools, however, flexibility, patience and persistence is critical for course enrolment as incoming exchange students don't register for courses until after UCalgary students, affecting seat availability. Prepare for course enrolment by reviewing and understanding our Course Restrictions and Limitations information.
On-campus housing offers a variety of room selections with varying price points, as well as optional meal plans, however placement is not guaranteed. Application immediately upon issuance of a UCalgary Student ID#, is highly recommended. (Confirmation of acceptance to UCalgary is not required to apply).

CLOSED PROGRAMS:
All majors in the Business, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Environmental Design (Architecture), Veterinary Medicine.
RESTRICTED/LIMITED PROGRAMS:
Biological Science, Computer Science, Psychology and Kinesiology are highly competitive and students may find it difficult to enroll in a broad selection of courses in these areas. Fine Arts courses are also limited and an audition or portfolio is required for registration.
OTHER ACADEMIC INFORMATION:
Students will be required to upload a copy of their official transcript when completing the UCalgary exchange application. Courses with pre-requisities will require approval from the respective UCalgary academic department prior to enrolment being permitted. More information is provided upon acceptance.

Exchange students live in second year or upper year housing depending on whether a sophomore, junior or senior within their degree. In shared accommodations, students have separate bedrooms while sharing other living spaces. It is strongly recommended to submit your housing application immediately upon receiving your UCalgary Student ID# as spaces can be highly competitive.
