Turlock, California
About This Campus
Stanislaus State is a welcoming 228-acre, park-like campus with ponds, streams, and shaded walkways. Academically, the university offers bachelor’s and master’s programs across the Colleges of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences; Business Administration; Education, Kinesiology & Social Work; and Science—emphasizing hands-on learning, labs and studios, service learning, and faculty-mentored research. Students find support through advising, tutoring and writing centers, and career services. Beyond class, the University Student Center anchors student life, and the Student Recreation Complex hosts intramurals and fitness with lighted fields, a track, and a soccer stadium. Performances and exhibitions take place in the Mainstage and Black Box theatres, Snider Music Recital Hall, and the University Art Gallery. Warrior Athletics compete in NCAA Division II (CCAA).

Easy access to Yosemite & the Sierra, San Francisco Bay Area, Monterey/Big Sur, and Sacramento
Helpful Information
Stan State offers apartment-style on-campus housing with cooking facilities and shared living spaces—steps from classes, the Student Center, and recreation—and beds for exchange students are always available. Campus culture is friendly and focused; weekdays are lively with classes, labs, and student activities, and evenings tend to be quieter except for performances and games. Academically, classes are small to mid-sized and faculty are approachable. Popular courses can fill, so have 2–3 alternates and stay flexible within related subjects; some upper-division classes may require prerequisites or departmental consent. Student life includes active clubs and intramurals, theatre and music events, and plenty of green space for studying or unwinding between classes.
Location Information
Stanislaus State is in Turlock, a small, friendly community of about 75,000 in California’s Central Valley. The campus sits in the heart of the state, with weekend-worthy destinations in every direction—Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada to the east; the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento to the north and west; and Monterey/Big Sur along the coast. Minutes away, downtown Turlock offers the Carnegie Arts Center, local cafés, and year-round events. The Stockton Campus, located near downtown Stockton, extends Stan State’s presence and partnerships across San Joaquin County.
