About This Campus
Paul Smith's College is a 14,000 acre private institution founded in 1946. Prior to being a college, the PSC grounds operated as Paul Smith’s Hotel, the original Adirondack wilderness resort. Guests from around the globe including world leaders, prominent businessmen, and popular celebrities would come to enjoy the natural beauty of the area and the famous hospitality and guide services offered. In line with the tradition of the hotel, PSC’s initial curriculum focused on Outdoor Recreation, Hospitality, and Forestry. Today these legacy programs are complemented by more than 20 academic majors such as Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Business, Psychology, Sustainable Communities, Ecological Restoration, and more. The Paul Smith’s campus is on the shores of Lower Saint Regis lake, in close proximity to Lake Placid and the Adirondack High Peaks, making it a perfect place to study. At PSC our slogan "It’s all about the experience".
It's all about the experience with small class sizes and hands on learning!
Location Information
PSC is located in the heart of the Adirondack Park, a 6-million-acre wilderness preserve in upstate New York. This location is key to both the history and the current identity of the campus. PSC is the only 4-year college inside the park boundaries and is close to many of the highlights of the park, including the High Peaks region which has some of the best hiking and rock climbing in the northeast. PSC is just 30 minutes from Lake Placid, NY, the two-time Winter Olympics host village.
