Program Description

Mainz is located along the picturesque Rhine River and features a combination of historic German culture along with more modern touches. Students can participate in the welcome week giving them opportunities to participate in an intensive language course as well as cultural excursions to learn more about the region. Almost every major is offered in German at the university, but there are many courses taught in English as well.

Please note that most courses are taught in German and that only limited offers for courses are available in English. No formal requirement; but expecting intermediate language proficiency in German equivalent to B1. Biology, Medicine and German Studies require B2*. Medicine and Dentistry require C1 for the practical year. The program end dates include the exam period. Students will not always stay until the very end of the test period and can leave the semester early when they are done with their exams. Two semesters of full-time, on-campus enrollment prior to program departure.
