About This Campus
The Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is a French-language public university. The originality and uniqueness of its programs, its cutting-edge research often focused on social issues, and its innovations in creative fields have contributed to building its reputation. The university, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019, welcomes around 35 000 students each year – including 4 000 international students from 95 countries.
UQAM distinguishes itself through the quality of its academic support, the accessibility of its faculty, the emphasis on practical training and its vibrant campus life. UQAM offers more than 375 programs, at the School of Management Sciences (ESG UQAM) or one of its seven faculties: Arts, Communication, Political Science and Law, Sciences, Education, Health Sciences, and Humanities. Most courses are taught in French, but a few are offered in English at the ESG. UQAM is also the ideal place to improve your French in a French as a Second Language program.

Helpful Information
At UQAM, students must apply to one study program and choose all their courses within that program,
However, it is possible to choose one language course.
For all regular study programs, the minimum level of French accepted is Intermediate / Advanced or equivalent to B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (proof of French competency mandatory, except for the School of Management Sciences (ESG) and the School of Languages.)
There is a mandatory health insurance fee of $300 CAD per semester (subject to change without notice.)
