About This Campus
Central Connecticut State University (Central) is the largest university in the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system. The university comprises five academic schools — the School of Business, the School of Engineering, Science, & Technology, the School of Graduate Studies, and the School of Education & Professional Studies, and the Carol A. Ammon College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. As a comprehensive public university, we offer quality degree programs at the baccalaureate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Central is a proud Community Engagement University designated by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. CCSU also has three other elements of distinction: International Education, Workforce and State Economic Development, and Interdisciplinary Studies and Cross-Cultural Initiatives. Ebenezer Bassett was the first African American student and diplomat to Haiti.

Location Information
Minutes away from the state capital and a few hours to Providence, Boston, and New York, CCSU has 314 acres of rolling hills and sits in the culturally diverse city of New Britain. New Britain has a large Polish and Hispanic population and is home to many parks, museums, ethnic restaurants, and hiking and biking trails.
