About This Campus
Washington State University-Pullman is a top-tier research institution, belonging to the Pac-12 academic and athletic conference, with a strong student body and extracurricular activities network. Our small class sizes, with a student to faculty ratio of approximately 15:1, allow for individual attention and engagement in class participation. WSU has top ranked agricultural, engineering, communication, and veterinary medicine programs wrapped in a large array of impressive elective options. Recreational activities include hiking on Kamiak Butte, biking along the 20 mile Chipman Trail, skiing at several resorts within a three-hour drive, and three student recreation centers. WSU is a large university with a traditional campus feeling in a small town setting where Cougar Pride abounds.
Home to Washington’s only veterinary school, offering hands-on clinics, labs, and real-world research for future animal health leaders.
Edward R. Murrow College of Communication trains students in journalism, media, and storytelling on a legacy of global impact.
Helpful Information
Placement and course selection can be VERY limited. Students should expect to prepare multiple alternate course options in and out of their major. During exchange, all WSU courses must be taken in-person, on the WSU Pullman campus.
Experiential opportunities are available in-person and remote. On- and off-campus living opportunities are abundant, and traveling around the town of Pullman is accessible and free for students on Pullman transit.
Location Information
Pullman is located in the rolling hills of the Palouse in Eastern Washington. We have more than 170 days of sunshine and all four seasons. A small town, we are 8 miles from the Idaho border and the University of Idaho. The largest shopping city is Spokane, 75 miles away. Seattle is 5 hours away, across the state.
