About This Campus
New College of Florida boasts a scenic 110-acre campus on Sarasota Bay, blending historic Gilded Age mansions and modernist I.M. Pei architecture with state-of-the-art facilities, divided into Bayfront (historic/academic), Pei (residential/student life), and Caples (fine arts) sections, offering waterfront access for research and recreation, and featuring lush grounds and a suburban-meets-coastal vibe near cultural attractions like the Ringling Museum.
A New College education is all about you—your vision, your passions, your originality.
New College offers more than 50 undergraduate majors in arts, humanities and sciences, plus exceptional STEM opportunities.
Helpful Information
New College of Florida now augments our existing narrative evaluation system by requiring Instructors of Record to provide specific designations for satisfactory performance, which will translate directly to letter grades for GPA purposes. This approach preserves the value of narrative evaluations while also providing students with the benefit of grades and a GP A, should they need them now or in the future. This system also ensures that the Instructor of Record evaluates all students under a consistent, transparent, and fair system.
Location Information
New College's waterfront location on Sarasota Bay provides excellent research opportunities and a beautiful natural setting. The campus is a short drive from Florida Gulf beaches and shares shoreline with the adjacent Ringling Museum and historic Asolo Theater. Students have easy access to the Sarasota-Bradenton airport and to public transportation into downtown Sarasota. Tampa International Airport (50 miles from campus) is served by multiple shuttle services.
