About This Campus
Universidad del Sagrado Corazon was established in 1880 and is the oldest private educational institution in Puerto Rico. Sagrado is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the Puerto Rico Council on Higher Education, the Council on Social Work Education, and the International Association for Continuing Education and Training. Sagrado incorporates undergraduate research experiences and service learning in most academic programs. Sagrado is the only Puerto Rican university recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in their "Community Engagement" and "Outreach and Partnerships" categories. Sagrado is well known in Puerto Rico for its communications programs and intercollegiate sports achievements.

The language of instruction of most courses is Spanish, and English course offerings are extremely limited. While some classroom materials such as textbooks may be in English, all students are required to demonstrate a B2 high-intermediate level of proficiency in Spanish.
