The Applied Environmental Science Program (AESP) is a highly-regarded, semester-long residential program that operates under a flexible, full-day class structure that incorporates lectures and classroom learning with hands- on activities in the field. Field activities take full advantage of the proximity to the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain. AESP courses are upper-level courses that require students to have taken introductory biology and chemistry, and general ecology. ENV 411 also requires introductory calculus. Prerequisites may be waived at the discretion of the instructor. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding enrollment eligibility.
Home or Host Pay is available. In addition, there is a $25 technology fee that is mandatory. If choosing to live at the Miner Institute (recommended), it is $1,800 for a two-person apartment per semester. A limited number of single rooms for $2,200 per semester. There is no meal plan, but lunch is available for purchase Monday through Friday in the onsite cafeteria. For those residing on campus, there is a $1,500 scholarship available.
