Semester in the Wild takes place at Taylor Wilderness Research Station, located deep in the heart of the Frank Church—River of No Return Wilderness, where you will earn 17 credits during your fall semester. Accessible only by hiking or flying, Taylor Wilderness Research Station is the most remote teaching and learning facility in the Lower 48. Immerse yourself in nature in this 11-week program where you'll study ecology, environmental writing, wilderness management, outdoor leadership and environmental history in Idaho's pristine wilderness. Experience hands-on learning by collecting samples in a creek or writing about the natural world from a mountain ridge. You'll explore ecology in an untouched environment and develop skills to write about science and the environment effectively.
