This occupational endorsement provides training for students interested in planning and performing scientific diving as part of university or government research. Courses in this OE take students from being non-divers through Open Water, Dry Suit, Rescue and Research certifications. Students are also introduced to the skiff operations, outboard maintenance and cold water survival. At the completion of this OE, students will receive no less than 10 professional certifications and will have completed no less than 30 Alaska SCUBA dives. ~Upon successful completion of the Alaska Dive Semester coursework, you will receive the following certifications: Scuba Educators International (SEI) Open Water Diver Dry Suit Diver Advanced Open Water Diver Dive Rescue and Accident Management (DRAM) American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS) Scientific Diver Divers Alert Network (DAN) First Aid, CPR, AED Divers Alert Network (DAN) O2 Provider Alaska Boaters Certificate
NSE program requirements as well as a separate application process for the O.E. program. UAS staff will assist you in determining your eligibility and navigating the application process.
Tuition and Fees (13 credits)= $5,000 Housing (off campus only)= $3,000 Meals & Incidentals (no on campus dining options available)=$3,000 Total= $11,000 *Does not include travel costs
