Notable Academic Programs- Engineering - The College is also the largest of its kind in Puerto Rico. It is the first producer of Hispanic engineers in the United States of America, according to the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). Our long established undergraduate engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

- Geology - Our department is the largest research and teaching earth science department in the Caribbean region. The UPRM Geology department has graduated more Hispanic geoscientists than any other academic unit in the U.S. university system and currently offers programs of study leading to Bachelor’s and Master’s of science degrees in Geology.

Students must purchase campus health insurance at $649 per semester.
Financial Aid
Host Payment (Plan A)
For Plan A U.S. students, aid is awarded by and disbursed from your host campus.
Students apply for federally funded financial aid by using the FAFSA code of their host campus.
Host campuses award aid to eligible incoming Plan A students on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funds are available.
Ask your home campus NSE coordinator if your campus awards aid to their own outgoing students. If so, do not apply for aid from your host campus.
