About This Campus

Founded in 1839 by Horace Mann, Westfield State is an education leader committed to providing every generation of students with a learning experience built on its founding principle as the first co-educational college in America to offer an education without barrier to race, creed or economic status. As you visit our beautiful campus, I think that you'll discover why U.S. News & World Report ranked us first among our state peers in the category of "Regional Universities - North" in its latest "Best Colleges" edition and why MASSInc named us "Massachusetts' Best Value," preceding all public and private institutions of higher education in our state. We've much to celebrate - affordability and
