About This Campus

Arkansas Tech University (ATU) is a comprehensive public higher education institution that is committed to teaching and learning supported by scholarship and service. ATU is regionally accredited as an institution through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) with many individual programs accredited through appropriate professional organizations. Founded in 1909, Arkansas Tech University is rich in history and is now one of the fastest growing universities in the state.The campus is located on an attractive 559 acres in a rural setting. 16 residence halls are within easy walking distance to any of the classrooms. ATU offers over 120 graduate and undergraduate programs of study as well as over 15 certificate programs. Programs that may have special appeal for exchange students are fisheries and wildlife science, emergency management, game design and nuclear physics.

Location Information

Arkansas Tech University is located in Russellville, Arkansas, in the heart of the Arkansas River Valley. The nickname for Arkansas is the Natural State, and the state is well known for its natural scenic beauty, clear lakes and streams, and abundant wildlife. Russellville is a growing city located at the crossroads of Interstate 40 and Scenic Highway 7, and has a population of 29,583. The city of Russellville offers many outdoor activities, parks, soccer, softball and baseball complexes.

Arkansas Tech University provides a campus small enough for individual attention, yet large enough for a quality education. The natural surroundings of ATU offer a place to explore and enjoy the great outdoors. ATU’s Outdoor Recreation Office hosts regular trips to the local sites for hiking, camping and climbing and offers free outdoor equipment that students can check out.
