Stories and Updates

I've been asked to address something that I don't really want to address, but there's no denying that it's very real right now. So, with the coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak right now, all my classes have been moved online for the rest of the semester. They're trying to keep people off campus as much as possible, meaning the rec centers are also closed. My home campus back in Minnesota, they've also done the same thing.

The dining hall is just doing to-go meals so we can't actually stay in there and eat, which makes sense. But if people are able to move out of student housing, they're encouraged to do so. However, I will not be doing that. Just for my own personal reasons. I think I can do better in my classes if I'm actually on campus and have those resources there.

It's just a crazy time. I'm obviously taking all the precautions that need to be taken. Washing my hands, don't touch your face. That's something that's really hard for me. I'm really used to touching my face a lot, so I had to get better at that and I'm forcing myself to remember not to do that. It sucks. It sucks for everyone. It sucks that this had to happen when I was on exchange because I only have this one semester and the last half of it now is not anything like I expected. On the plus side, I will never forget it now. Not that I was going to.

But now I will just be staying in my apartment for the most part, besides getting food and going outside too, because it's important to go outside to boost your immune system and spend some time outside in the sun. And it's a good thing my apartment has a porch, so I can spend some time out there. But I still plan on making the best of these next few months and just having fun that I can and enjoy my time here in Southern California. So, stay safe out there and wash your hands.
